Where do I go for a lockbox, sign riders, and other REALTOR® items?

HCAR now has a REALTOR® Store!
Please visit the HCAR office to purchase and pick up items. *We recommend that you call the office first.

What is RPAC?

RPAC stands for REALTOR® Political Action Committee.
The REALTOR® Party is non-partisan. RPAC contributions from REALTOR® members go to elected officials and candidates that support issues important to the real estate industry. To find out more and to contribute, you can visit the RPAC page.

Where do I go if I have a complaint?

If you have an HCAR related complaint or for a dispute resolution, please e-mail: staff@hcar.org or contact Rita Williams, Administrator at 410-715-1438.

The Code of Ethics is a promise to the public that defines the professionalism and service to be expected from a member of the National Association of REALTORS®

Dispute Resolution If you believe that a Howard County Association of REALTOR® (HCAR) member acted unethically in a real estate transaction, you may address the issue through HCAR.

Consumer Complaints If you wish to file an ethics complaint with HCAR against a member, you must complete and return the Ethics Complaint Form, citing the article(s) of the code of ethics you allege were violated and attach a written statement of facts. Complaints must be filed within 180 days after the facts were known. Once your complaint has been received, it will be forwarded to the Grievance Committee for its review and determination as to whether the matter warrants a formal hearing. You will be notified of the Grievance Committee’s action, and if the committee finds a hearing is warranted, steps will be taken to schedule the hearing. Does HCAR offer Pre-licensing classes?

We don’t offer pre-licensing classes.

These forms are for HCAR REALTOR® members only. Please login to access this information.

 

What portion of my dues are deductible?

Compliance with the Tax Reform Act of 1993 requires that the portion of dues attributable to lobbying and political activities at the State and Federal levels of government be considered nondeductible for income tax purposes. We recommend consulting your tax accountant prior to making the deductions. RPAC Donations are non-deductible

Do I have to donate to RPAC (REALTORS® Political Action Committee?)

Contributions to RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal and the National Association of REALTORS® or any of its state associations or local boards will not favor or disfavor any member because of the amount contributed.
